Released in November 1980, Motbrhead's fourth album, Ace Of Spades, was a true game-changer - and you don't have to take my word for that. 'It's one of those rare records where every song is great,' states Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. 'And so it is the blueprint, in some way, for a lot of the speed metal, a lot of the thrash metal, a lot of those bands that came out in the mid-'80s and stuff that fused punk and metal roots with a down-to-earth attitude.'
