The late Raymond Cooke, OBE, worked alongside Dudley Harwood (who later founded Harbeth) in the BBC's Engineering Design Department in the 1950s before Joining Wharfedale and later forming KEF. His relationship with Auntie Beeb blossomed as KEF pioneered new technologies. It was the first company to begin production of drivers with cones made of materials other than paper and was first to apply Fast Fourier Transform analysis to the measuring of speakers.
