Parallel Lines [Chrysalis CDL 1192] features a stylised group cover shot in which Debbie Harry stands defiantly - stony-faced, hands on hips - very much centre-stage and out front in a wispy white slip-dress and stilettos, while behind her the backing band snigger and grin with a cocksure stance; their black suits, skinny ties and sneakers providing an era-defining aesthetic. The air is one of confidence bordering on arrogance, a band who must have known they had just made a great album and were about to take the world by storm.
