The fact that Broderick was once in Danish avant-garde pop combo Efterklang should be enough to make anyone take this lovely album seriously. Efterklang fans will already be anticipating music that is wildly experimental yet always accessible, unpredictable yet invariably rich in emotion, and that's right on the nail. Piano is his strongest suit, but Broderick is a gifted multi-instrumentalist and also blessed with a voice so hauntingly tender that he can (and does) sing his website address and make it sound like a love letter. Produced at Nils Frahm's famed Durton Studio in Berlin the sonic delights are almost as captivating as the musical enchantments.
