Musical Fidelity The Preamp/Dr Thomas pre/power amps

Great oaks from little acorns grow. Over the past 30 years, Antony Michaelson's Musical Fidelity company has survived and prospered through tough times and tougher times, but it all started with one diminutive but memorable product, called simply The Preamp. Musical Fidelity wasn't Michaelson's first adventure in the hi-fi field. In the late 1970s he'd been half of Michaelson & Austin, which made the TVA-1 valve amplifier, but when this partnership came to an end he left the UK hi-fi scene and spent some time in the USA before returning to live in London again. Then 1981 brought a severe recession and for a while he was out of a job.
