In search of the real Beatles sound...

What on earth is EMI doing re-releasing The Beatles' albums on 180g vinyl from a soft lacquer-coated nickel disc in an attempt to create a wanner sound for vinyl? [See News, HFN Dec '12.] Maybe it should by a blue rinse as well? The original Beatles records were meant to be played on a Dansette or a Wuriitzer - and in mono. They do not need to be warmed up; far from it. I am nearing retirement, but I am not ready to listen to The Beatles while wearing slippers and smoking a pipe.
