Cabasse Java MC40

Launched a few years ago now, the MC40 series was the first to bring Cabasse's signature coaxial drive unit technology, the Spatially Coherent System [SCS], to speakers in a moderate price range. With a dome tweeter at the centre, SCS units can provide two-, three- and even four-way coaxial combinations, the surrounding annular lower-frequency diaphragms curving rearward like extensions of the dome, to give a spherical radiation pattern. In the Java's SCS tweeter/midrange unit, a midrange diaphragm measuring 85mm in diameter forms a ring around a 25mm polyester-dome tweeter.
