I'm getting (even) more cynical about the continuous onslaught of new/reinvented/rebranded music streaming services, and the technology behind them. The great Tidal relaunch turned out to be a star-studded embarrassment, with a lot of idealism being spouted about putting the means of distribution in the hands of the creative artists, seizing back the spirit of creative expression and so on. That's a pity because I'm a great fan of Tidal's aims of delivering lossless streaming, but given the egos involved I can't help feeling this is a car-crash waiting to happen.
