Now in its 13th year and having grown to become the largest event of its type in the old colony, the Hong Kong High-End Audio Visual Show is held annually in August for three consecutive days at Wan Chai's HKCEC. No fewer than 100 exhibitors attracted audiophiles from mainland China and other countries in Asia, as well as AV manufacturers and representatives from Europe, USA, Japan and Korea. Despite declining tourist numbers and an economic slowdown, visitors still 'exceeded 28,000', said organiser, Rebecca Chin [far left]. Interest in portable digital players, headphones, vinyl and CD/DVD media turned the main hall into something resembling the local Mong Kok market place. And, despite high humidity and heat, and the threat of typhoon Soudelor, 2015 marked what was probably the best show ever.
