Released in time for the bassist's 80th birthday, this brings together three artists who've had long associations with each other and with ECM, if not in this combination. Pianist Marc Copland has collaborated with Peacock for 30 years, and he in turn has often worked with drummer Joey Baron. And the pieces Peacock has chosen span his long career. 'Moor', for instance, sounds less fierce here than on his 1963 recording with Paul Bley [ECM 1003], while a reflective 'Vignette' revisits a composition that Peacock introduced with Jarrett and DeJohnette before they became the Standards Trio. Satisfying music with a calm centre.
