VINYL SNOBBERY?

I am happy to see the resurgence of interest in vinyl and agree with most of the points raised by Barry Willis in his June Opinion piece on vinyl's persistence as a format. But I do take issue with his comments on the Record Man and Crosley turntables, which he dismisses scornfully as 'cheap junk'. Hi-fi is a means to listen to music. I prefer my music on vinyl and on a reasonably good turntable - in my case a Rega P9. But I could still enjoy my LPs if played on one of those cheap turntables. In short, Barry's comment reeks of snobbery.
