Hi-Fi: limits and benefits

Every once in a while I get reminded of how limited hi-fi really is. My most recent reminder came at a birthday celebration for our town's most famous cyclist, Mike Levy, a centenarian who's been putting respectable miles on his bike every week for more than 50 years. I'm not talking here about some charming old gent clattering about on a clunky cruiser - this fellow rides a custom-built Pinarello and sports full racer's kit. For his celebratory ride he wore a yellow jersey emblazoned with his age - 100 (also his average weekly mileage) - while leading a tour group of dazzled friends on a two-hour ride.
