Whatever new front-end or loudspeaker technologies are developed, chances are that we'll all still be hankering after a sublimely unburstable amplifier well into the foreseeable future. And two of the most heavenly amplifiers currently available - the Reference 6 preamplifier from Audio Research and NAP 500 DR power amp from Nairn Audio - feature on the cover of this month's issue.
