In late June of this year, the hi-fi world lost its foremost and most persistent curmudgeon with the passing of Peter Aczel, publisher and editor of The Audio Critic. The former advertising executive and longtime Pennsylvania resident was 91. Two years earlier he had stopped updating the website www.theaudiocritic.com that was the continuation of the publication he started in 1977, when the American market was dominated by Stereo Review, High Fidelity and Audio magazines.
