An excellent recording debut for this Ensemble, all 12 winds and string-bass credited in the booklet. This Oct '15 live performance from the LSO's Hawksmoor church, St Luke's, was led by Lorenzo Iosco, basset horn, and oboe/ clarinet parts in the great Adagio were taken by the young Olivier Stankiewicz and Andrew Marriner. The tempo here is quite flowing - a match for the brisk finale (no applause follows) - but for me the high point of this recording is the second trio in the first Menuetto, which is simply wonderful. Clean imaging, the pungent winds' sounds accurately caught, and short playing time notwithstanding (47m 43s), a Gran Partita essential to all Mozartians.
