I read Ken Kessler's review of the Luxman MQ-300 SET valve amp in the Nov '16 issue and, as a fanatic when it comes to horns and 300B tubes, I have to disagree with his opinion on watts vs price and 'the single-ended triode's lack of useable power'. You don't need a lot of power to enjoy music, just a few watts and huge, old-style horns or a single full-range speaker that has high sensitivity.
