One for the load

Thanks for publishing my letter in the September issue concerning amplifier test procedures. In his reply, Keith Howard did not make clear whether or not power tests into different loads are performed with fixed input levels. I assume the level is not fixed. I think it's a pity that measurements undertaken in this way do not give a real insight into the performance of an amplifier under normal listening conditions.
