State of the art EC/DC fan coil units, manufactured by Ability Projects, are providing conditioned air for air crew and maintenance crew at the recently opened Lynx Wildcat helicopter training centre at RNAS Yeovilton. Already in use for training Army Air Force personnel, the centre will also be used for Royal Naval helicopter crews early next year. In order to deliver high grade Army and Navy type conversion and mission training, the new centre will utilise a high degree of synthetic training technology based around full mission simulators and flight and cockpit training systems. Almost 70 off advanced Ability EV0190 and EVO270 chassis type, 4-pipe fan coil units supply conditioned air to the centre's briefing rooms and integrated electronic classrooms at capacities from 1.5 to 3.7kW (cooling) and 2.5 to 4.5kW (heating).
