There was a time when selling and fitting a shower was a simple matter - Mrs Homeowner decided she wanted a shower and flicked through the Yellow Pages to find a friendly plumber who would come round and fit one over her bath or, if she had the room, would install a dedicated shower enclosure with a gravity fed shower and she thought she had got one over the neighbours! The shower market of today has changed beyond recognition. Comparisons with the car market are not redundant: once there was a time when it was sufficient to own a car, but today, manufacturers are selling far more than just vehicles to transport passengers from A to B. 'Brand' is more important than ever, whilst luxury features like ABS, air conditioning and a CD player, once the preserve of the top end, are now virtually standard fit.
