Over the past decade there has been significant emphasis within the drug development process to progress effective safety pharmacology methodologies. Much of the focus relates to the core battery described in the ICH S7A and S7B guidelines for safety pharmacology, for assessment of adverse effects on the central nervous, respiratory and in particular, cardiovascular systems.
