MERCHANTS BATTLE THE SNOW

Merchant staff from around the country have been battling snowy conditions to keep branches open for customers during the recent arctic weather. Plumb and Parts Center staff reported walking miles through snow, digging customers' cars out and cancelling days off to ensure the branches could operate. At the Malton branch Des Jenkinson, who is over 60 years-old, spent 45 minutes digging out his car each day to make it to work. Staff at the Hull branch spent a great deal of time digging cars out in the yard, clearing snow and ice, and gritting the car park to guarantee the safety of their customers.
