The incident occurred on 7 November 2013 at an Aldi store in Somercotes, Derbyshire. A delivery driver, who does not want to be named, was in the second week of a new job, working alone, delivering goods. The visit was his third to the store. At around 6am, he was using a powered pedestrian-operated pallet truck to offload the goods from his vehicle and place them into the chiller unit. The unit was cramped and he had to re-arrange the items in order to make space.
