EPA Proposes Revisions to Notification Requirements for Lead-Based Paint Rules

EPA has promulgated Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) regulations in 40 CFR Part 745 that govern lead-based paint inspection, screening, abatement, renovation, repair, and painting activities in target housing and child-occupied facilities. Lead-based paint was banned for residential use in the United States in 1978. However, it is estimated that more than 38 million U.S. homer still contain some lead-based paint, and lead poisoning is the number one envir onrnental threat to the health of children in the nation.
