(True) Environmentalists?

It is my opinion that true environmentalists are those who actually clean up pollution ?waste haulers, treatment companies and disposal facilities. Yet, sometimes the good work performed by the waste sector is either scorned or unnoticed. So-called environmentalists, and to some extent, the government, like to think of themselves as the protectors of the helpless bugs and bunnies. However, how many tonnes of hazardous waste have they treated lately? Environmentalists and governments certainly have a role in protecting the environment but they should recheck their thinking with respect to some cleanup projects. Two examples of environmentalists and government hindering cleanup progress are with respect to a thermal oxidizer in Belledune, New Brunswick and the cleanup of the Tar Ponds in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
