The Coral Reef Adventure playing at the Ontario Science Centre documents a real-life expedition into the islands of the South Pacific, including Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The film explores the health (or lack thereof) and beauty of coral reefs. "We don't inherit the water from our parents, we borrow it from our children," is one of the great messages provided by the filmmaker. Whether one lives by Australia's Great Barrier Reef or by Canada's Great Lakes, water and its protection is a universal concern. Here at home, the unique ecosystem of the St. Clair River includes 45 species not found elsewhere in Canada. Industries flourish on the banks of the swift-flowing waters that transport goods around the Great Lakes and outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the surrounding wetlands.
