Seen primarily as a US organisation, the Chemical Carriers' Association is now promoting the advantages of membership to a wider audience. The Chemical Carriers' Association Inc (CCA) was established in 1978 as an international, non-profit organisation dedicated to representing the interests of the worldwide chemical tanker industry. Headquartered in Washington, DC it has, however, gained a reputation as being purely involved in US matters - indeed, it works closely with the US Coast Guard (USCG) in the development of regulations that affect its members.
