Labelling Clariant, a global leader in specialised chemical products, has recently invested in polyester labels and SAP R/3~® network compatible printers from Zebra Technologies for ensuring maximum safety. Of Clairant's 32,000 global workforce, more than 10,000 are based in Germany. Dieter Roth is responsible for production monitoring and coordinating data for 1,450 employees at Clariant's production facility at Cassella-Offenbach, near Frankfurt. Stephen Sherlock is facility manager for Clariant, Germany and is responsible for ensuring that all chemical drums are labelled clearly for distribution. Labelling and identification is the key to ensuring overall safety when transporting chemicals. Clariant prints approximately 10,000 A5 format labels per week and it is for this purpose that Roth and Sherlock have turned to Zebra's bar code label design and printing products. The new printers are 30 per cent quicker than the laser printers previously used.
