With competition among tank container operators and lessors remaining fierce, these companies have to find ways of differentiating their service offerings from the rest in order to attract new customers. One way of adding value to a tank container fleet is through investment in tracking systems that use satellite technology. There are a number of companies that offer tracking systems for tanks, although the take-up of these systems has been patchy.
