The commissioning last year of the Dapeng LNG terminal was an important element in plans to expand gas's share of China's total energy consumption from 3 per cent to 8 per cent by 2010. Plans for further LNG terminals have, though, been thrown into doubt by rising prices, as David Hayes reports.
