Global logistics provider Hoyer reports that its overall turnover for the first half of 2008 was €494m, an increase of 9 per cent compared to the same period last year. Pre-tax operating profit rose from €4.9m last time to €9.0m this year. "The Hoyer Group has thus successfully implemented its policy of growth in 2008," says Hoyer. "The company attributes these positive developments primarily to its optimised transport network, as well as a number of new projects which have been successfully launched. In addition, the company has been able to compensate, at least partially, for the increased cost of diesel oil by adjusting the prices charged to customers.
