'Conscious incompetence' is the phrase given o that stage of learning when you're rubbish ind you know you are. That's why you start earning. This leads on through 'conscious competence', when you're getting the hang of things but still have to think about it, to the most dangerous stage of all, 'unconscious incompetence'. This is when you think you know it all but forget to actually do it properly. Only after going through that phase can you enter the nirvana that is 'unconscious competence', when you do everything perfectly without really having to work hard at it.
