It is unusual for a philosopher to appear in this magazine once, let alone twice, but our man Alain de Botton has been on TV again. And no, not to advertise HCB - mentioned in his recent book on the joys and pains of work (HCB May 2009, page 1) - but to propound some of his ideas on knowledge and its acquisition.
