Francis Ward installs a Multipod

UK plastics drum and roto-moulded intermediate bulk container manufacturer Francis Ward has invested in a "unique" Multipod moulding machine costing more than £300,000. The machine, the company says, is the first in the world to employ a new design by Bury-based GM Multipod and features a movable oven and static modular moulding stations. The arms on both Pods have been configured as drop arms, allowing the company "to make some of the largest mouldings in the UK". "The static moulding stations allow the machine to handle very heavy moulds with a weight limit well in excess of 2 tonnes," the company says.
