Germany has initiated a multilateral special agreement under RID, 4/2011, offering a derogation from the provisions of 1.8.7-1.4 of RID. The agreement would extend until December 31, 2011 the validity of certificates for the supervision of the manufacture of transportable pressure receptacles. As of May 10, the agreement remains to be counter-signed. However, RID 3/2011, initiated by Germany this past January, has been countersigned by both the UK and Switzerland.
