Private intermodal rail operator Hupac is hailing its new 2010 transport volume figures as a sign of continuing economic recovery following the difficult global conditions that marked 2009. The company reports that transport volumes grew by 13.7 per cent last year, reaching almost the same level as 2008. Hupac moved a total of 690,251 road shipments by rail and its transalpine route via Switzerland experienced a growth rate of 9.5 per cent.
