Two new bulk liquids storage facilities are being planned for the Nangang Industrial Zone in Tianjin, northern China. Odfjell has agreed to set up a joint venture with Tianjin EconomicTechnology Development Area (TEDA) to develop a terminal and marine facilities for bulk liquid chemicals, petroleum products and gases and Shell North China Oil Group is planning a 200,000 m3 oil products facility in partnership with Tianjin State Farms Agribusiness Group. The initial phase of the Odfjell project, due onstream in the second quarter of 2014, will consist of three deepsea berths and total storage capacity of about 150,000 m3. Odfjell is partnering in the $160m project with Nangang Port Company, which holds a 51 per cent share.
