As detailed in the first part of this report (HCB December 2011, page 34), the chemical and petrochemical industries of the Middle East are undergoing a process of rapid expansion. Greatly aided by the availability of relatively cheap feedstocks, the region by 2015 looks set to account for almost one fifth of global petrochemical output.
