Royal Vopak has reported group revenues for 2013 of €1.30bn, just shy of the 2012 figure of €1.31bn. Group EBITDA, excluding exceptional items, dropped by 2 per cent to €753.1 m while net profit fell 10 per cent to €311.9m. Over the course of 2013, Vopak added a total of 1.0m m~3 of new capacity and divested some 0.4m m~3, increasing overall capacity to 30.5m m~3. Its reported occupancy rate for 2013 was 88 per cent, down from the 91 per cent recorded for 2012. "I am convinced that Vopak is a stronger company than a year ago," says Eelco Hoekstra, chairman of the executive board and CEO of the company. "But for the first time in ten years Vopak did not grow its earnings.
