The Peftalolen campus is located in the vast -ness of nature at the foot of the Andes. It is a place that has an immensity particular to Chile and the South American continent. The project's usable area is conceived as a totality, spaced out as an expanse, proposing that, in inhabiting the university, to be is really to circulate, with pauses and halts that maintain a relation between study and contemplation. The circulation is constructed through rings that, I inking the horizontals and verticals with ramps, create orbits that allow students and professors to invent their own paths. The space is continuous but not homogeneous: Its turns and torsions, shifts in scale, passages from semidarkness to light, and varied nuances of shadow construct multiple sequences that give richness to movement and vitality to inhabitation. It expresses the freedom necessary for university life.
