Of all the design and representation tools in architecture, the section is the most fecund. It reveals space as no other document can, reflects the constructive spirit, and clearly separates what is structural from the rest. It can express like no other tool the plays of light, penetrating frontally or from above, diffracted, filtered, or amplified. It reveals the scale of the building without even needing a human figure. It doesn't mislead or inflate, being both a representation and a tool of construction and verification.
