Recent Literature of Landscape Architecture

We look for books on landscape architecture for three reasons. First, they provide fresh information about ongoing or recently completed projects, useful when the world is now so global and when even world travelers cannot be everywhere and see the real thing. But we kid ourselves if anything replaces knowing and visiting the sites themselves. Yet we are forced to access many of them via the Internet or books; if books, then there is a serviceable record to refer to on library shelves. I am Luddite enough to want that physical resource, and students should have that opportunity too, for a review of library holdings is worth more (and is quicker) than the downloading of items one by one. Many-in fact, the majority-of books discussed here perform that particular task well, thanks above all to inventive and prolific photography.
