EU Safety Requirements Underpin Robust ADAS Market

Years in the making, the European Parliament and the Council recentlyfinalized type approval regulations that protect vehicle occupants and, forthe first time, vulnerable road users. As of May 2022 all new modelvehicles sold in the EU will have to be equipped with advanced safetysystems. The safety regulations become mandatory for existing modelsfrom May 2024. Vulnerable road users include pedestrians, cyclists, andusers of scooters, self-balancing vehicles and wheelchairs.
