Welding is the traditional joining technology in shipbuilding. An increasing outfitting status will lead to problems due heat input caused by welding process as well as damages on paint and varnishes caused by weld spatter.rnTechnical and economical effects of implementing alternative joining technologies should be shown.The effects are discussed reckoning three typical joining alternatives:rn1.
