Sea ports for container vessels of future generations

Due to continuously growing turnovers, seaports of future generations are faced with extraordinary requirements. Mainly the need for huge berthing places and high handling capacities, which are necessary in order to enable an efficient cargo exchange, are demanding conditions. As a consequence the wharfage is charged with high loads, resulting from the operating crane systems, and the bollards, bracing the ships. Furthermore the ship's strong propulsion devices cause heavy soil erosion undermining the quay walls.
