It used to be that most of my weaving projects ended up in storage bins. I love setting up the loom, but I have no patience with the actual weaving! When I discovered felting, I made even more projects for my storage bins. I loved the immediacy of the results, but the pieces seemed too bulky to be functional. My efforts to combine my favorite aspects of weaving and felting led to a discovery―quite by accident―that scallops could be created by adding felt to loosely and sporadically woven structures. I've been combining felting and weaving ever since (see my Zinnia Flower Fairy and Fuchsia Flower Fairy nieces on pages 50 and 52).
