It started out innocently enough. My firstborn child turned five and entered kindergarten, introducing me to the world of the public school system. Enthusiastic and involved mother that I am, when it came time for the holidays, I wanted to find a special gift that would express how much I valued all those who would teach my child the ways of the world and contribute to his healthy development as a person. The list grew as 1 thought of others besides his kindergarten teacher. There was the crossing guard and bus driver, the music and art teachers (especially important!), the Sunday School teacher, Scout leaders. . . .
