Preparing Recycled Fur and Leather Strips

Fur and leather may come from secondhand garments or accessories or scraps. Choose fur type and hair length to fit your design. Leather should be supple and not stained. Printed and dyed leathers may offer attractive visual effects. Cut off and discard fur parts that are unsuitable to the project. Clean the fur by washing the hair with pet soap and air-drying away from heat or sunlight. Brush the hair to fluff it.
