There is much to be said about the remarkable work being done by the eco-fabric company Thread. I encourage you to visit the Thread website to learn about how the company is addressing issues of poverty and trash in Haiti and Honduras. It produces fabrics and yarn made from recycled plastic bottles blended with cotton. By using a ring-spun process to manufacture a polyester/cotton yarn, Thread creates a strong, soft product. It is worth noting that polyester made from post-consumer waste uses less energy and water than if it were manufactured directly from oil.
