By relying on a formulation of the Standard Model in terms of spinor fields, and based on SU(3) × SU(2) global symmetries, we extend unified model of the three interactions in such a way as to incorporate quark-mixings. This allows us to treat this phenomenon as being dissociated from spontaneous symmetry breakdown via the Higgs mechanism. The most general interaction Lagrangian involving quark doublets, within the spinorial approach, is the one exhibiting generation mixings. Under these circumstances, quark-mixings becomes just a problem of coupling constant coefficients. Based on a fairly general Lagrangian, we propose an explicit representation for the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix in which its elements are related to coupling constant interactions. This representation turns out to be equivalent to the Wolfenstein representation of the CKM matrix.
