Faulty tank cars given 7-month recall extension

A recall of 6,000 defective railroad tank cars meant to be completed by May 12 has been extended until the end of the year. The decision by the Federal Railroad Administration means cars with faulty valves can legally transport crude oil and other hazardous materials until Dec. 31.
